FAQ
About WOOP
Q: What does WOOP mean?
WOOP stands for ‘WOrld of OPportunities’. It is a platform which opens up a world of opportunities for every one- Brands, Consumers and Social causes.
Q: What does WOOP do?
WOOP connects digitally savvy consumers like you with Brands. We make this connection more fun, more rewarding and more fulfilling for you compared to going to a Brand’s website or their facebook page.
Q: How does WOOP work?
It is a simple 4 step process:
-
GET INVITED: You get invited to try and learn about new products and services, based on your profile and interests.
-
DO FUN MISSIONS: You share your honest opinion with us and also friends via byte sized interactions called “missions”. You get points for doing missions.
-
WIN REWARDS: You redeem your points for rewards.
-
CHANGE LIVES, BE FULFILLED: Your WOOP points are also converted into money and donated to Gawad Kalinga (translated in English means to “give care”), a Philippine-based movement that engages all sectors of society in a caring and sharing ecosystem to end poverty and its various manifestations. And one of those is child nutrition and hunger, which Gawad Kalinga aims to address through a school-based feeding/Lunch program called Kusina ng Kalinga (KNK) This means just by spending some time doing missions on your phone, you can help fund Nutritious Lunches for young children.
Q: Why Should I join WOOP?
By doing missions on WOOP not only can you have fun, learn some useful info but also win rewards for yourself and help feed young children from poor families.
Q: Is WOOP more suited for a certain kind of person?
WOOP is perfect for those that love to try new products, services and hacks, getting insider info and offers and enjoy sharing their opinions with friends.
Q: Why do Brands partner with WOOP? What do they get?
Brands are always looking for insights, ideas, reviews and feedback to improve their products and services. They also want genuine people like you to talk to their friends about them. WOOP makes it easy and efficient for brands to make this connection.

Any citizen of Philippines with age > 18 years with a verified Philippines mobile phone number can sign up on WOOP.

There is no pressure to do all missions. However the more missions you do, the more things you will learn about the product and also earn more points and rewards.
Q: How many times can I do a mission?
Most missions can only be done once. However, if a mission can be done more than once it will clearly be mentioned in the mission.

About Points
Q: How do I get points for Missions?
On completing a mission you will see a message confirming that your response has been received. For some missions, you will be awarded your points immediately. For other missions, your response will need to be verified before you get the points. You will receive a notification when your response is approved.
Q: Do I get points only if I give positive opinion about the products and services?
We reward WOOPers for sharing their honest opinions regardless if it’s good or bad. So whether you love the product you tried through WOOP, or think it can be improved further, as long as you’re sharing your honest opinion you will get points.
Q: Besides doing Missions, how else can I earn points?
You can also earn points by inviting friends to join a Campaign that you are part of. When a friend joins using your invite link and completes at least 2 missions you get additional points for every friend.

You can invite your friend to the campaign you’re a part of but you will not get any points for it, as she is already a WOOP member.

You can track your points history via the ‘Points’ tab on the Campaign’s home page.

WOOP and Child Nutrition
Q: Why have you chosen the cause of Child Nutrition?
There are about 15M Filipino children who face the threat of not realizing their full potential – not growing to be as tall, as healthy, nor as bright as they can be – because they are suffering from hunger today as they grow up. The effects of hunger and poverty on children could become irreversible, especially if we’re not there for them NOW, when they need us the most. These children are our nation’s future decision-makers, leaders, and producers. If their minds and bodies are feeble now, just imagine what the Philippines will be in the years to come. Asia’s “rising tiger” may become a limping cub. This is the reason why we have chosen the cause of Child Nutrition, because it is critical for a bright future for Philippines.

Q: Why have you chosen Gawad Kalinga to partner with?
We wanted to work with a reputed and experienced NGO partner . Gawad Kalinga Community Development Foundation, Inc. (GK) was formally established in 2003, but it began work as early as 1994 in Bagong Silang, Caloocan City, the biggest informal setters’ relocation site in Metro Manila, under its Charismatic Leader Antonio Meloto or “Tito Tony”. Today Gawad Kalinga is present in almost every province in the country, engaging 10,000 barangays in over 3,500 communities and affecting 350,000 families through more than 4,000 volunteers on ground. GK’s mission is to end poverty for 5 million families by 2024.
Their scale, rich experience and reputation makes Gawad Kalinga an ideal partner for WOOP. Click here to read more about the recognition Gawad Kalinga has received over the years.
Q: What experience does Gawad Kalinga have in the area of Child Nutrition?
Gawad Kalinga started the school-based feeding program “Kusina Ng Kalinga” (KNK) in 2014 as a response to the experience of hunger by victims of Typhoon Haiyan. KNK is patterned after the operational template of “Blue plate for Better learning” , a meals-in-school program developed by Ateneo Center of Educational Development (ACED).
Today KNK operates 50 kitchens across the nation and is providing 80,000+ kids with nutritious lunch meals every day. ACED also acts as the external auditors to ensure that all kitchens adhere to operational guidelines and health and safety standards.
Each Kusina ng Kalinga central kitchen is scaled to cook up to 5,000 meals a day with parent volunteers serving as the backbone of the daily operations. The central kitchens prepare nutritious, balanced, and delicious lunch meals packed and distributed in colorful lunch boxes. By providing lunch meals to kids who everyday are left with no choice but to face the threats of poverty, disaster, and/or conflict, KNK program is giving their bodies the nourishment it needs so that they can have the fighting chance to grow up to their full potential.
How WOOP supports Child Nutrition
Q: How does WOOP generate money to fund KNK Lunch Meals?
WOOP gets paid by brands for the campaigns in direct proportion to the missions and points earned by you. From this money, we donate Pesos 15 to Gawad Kalinga for every 500 points earned by you. 15 Pesos is enough to fund 1 Nutritious Lunch Meal for a Child via Gawad Kalinga’s program Kusina Ng Kalinga. The higher your WOOP points, the more the nutritious meals you can help sponsor. It is as simple as that.
Q: Is there a target for the number of KnK nutritious meals, WOOP wants to sponsor every year?
The more KNK meals we can sponsor together the better it will be. We have set a minimum target of 22,000 KNK Meals per year by making a donation of at least Pesos 330,000.
Q: How frequently does the donation happen?
WOOP makes a donation towards Gawad Kalinga collectively at the end of every 3 months.
Q: How can I be certain that the donation is happening?
All Woopers will be informed via email as well as notification in their account of the amount, date and mode of donation made to Gawad Kalinga.
Q: Do I also need to give money from my side to Gawad Kalinga?
No, you do not need to contribute any money through WOOP. Just earn points by doing missions and WOOP will automatically turn your points to donation for Gawad Kalinga at the rate of 500 points = Pesos 15. Doing good was never easier.
Q: Do I lose my points, if they get converted into Pesos for KNK lunch meals?
No, you don't have to give up your points and rewards to help Filipino Children. Your points are automatically turned into money for lunch meals by us. This is the beauty of WOOP platform. Win Rewards and also Do Good on top.
Q: Where can I see how many KNK Meals I, my friends and WOOP community have helped sponsor?
You can see the number of KNK Lunch Meals created by you, on the Home page after Log in. By clicking on the “heart” icon you can also see the nutritious meals created by the entire WOOP community and also the friends you have invited.
Q: Can I also make an additional cash contribution?
You are welcome to make an additional cash contribution directly to Gawad Kalinga. You can check out their website www.gk1world.com.
Q: What if I want to contribute to a different Charity?
WOOP will be directing all funds towards the cause of the Child Nutrition via Gawad Kalinga’s program kusina ng kalinga. At this point in time, WOOP will not be supporting any additional cause. Please feel free to contribute to them directly if you wish to.
